Nestled in the heart of the Itamambuca community and just a short walk from the beach, Casa Viva is a warm, shared retreat house surrounded by jungle and ocean air. It’s a place designed for slowing down — where days begin with birdsong, end with the sound of the waves, and everything in between feels intentional.
The space is simple, peaceful, and grounded. Comfortable rooms open onto balconies with hammocks, shared areas invite connection, and the overall energy of the house supports rest, presence, and community. With no TVs and a focus on conscious living, Casa Viva offers the kind of environment that makes it easy to unplug and settle into the rhythm of nature.

"An unforgettable, soul-nourishing experience. This retreat was nothing short of amazing. It was grounding, enlightening, and truly beautiful amongst the nature of Costa Rica. Every detail, from the delicious food and serene accommodations to the thoughtfully planned activities, was intentional and nourishing. My heart, body, and mind felt completely cared for. Samantha is absolutely made for this—being in her light is something truly special. I left feeling so full of gratitude… my only wish is that it could have lasted longer. I never wanted to leave!"

"I was fortunate enough to join the Otra Ola Retreat in Costa Rica! The week was an absolutely magical experience. The surf and yoga sessions made for active yet restorative days, fueled by delicious healthy meals in between. I’m so thankful to the team for curating such an incredible itinerary for us, and left feeling closer to love through connection to myself and my fellow retreaters. I highly recommend attending an Otra Ola retreat if you are interested, and I can’t wait for my next one!"

"Best week ever in Brazil with Otra Ola! The team was super intentional with every detail, but remained flexible during the week of the retreat and really read the group to make sure everyone was getting the most out of the experience they could. Our community we created in the week was truly special and healing. It wouldn’t have happened without the awesome Otra Ola team! Couldn’t recommend this experience more, you won’t regret it! "

"Only come if you want to have an absolutely incredible time. Surf and yoga aside (which were amazing) I had such a beautiful time building a community with the other participants. The leaders did such a wonderful job creating a very safe and energetically warm environment. Absolutely tragic to go home afterwards. Could not recommend more!"

"Manu, Sam, Phil, the love, care and attention to put to every detail is something that didn’t go unnoticed, every little detail from the flowers, the notes, the food, the activities, everything showed just how much you cared and how genuine and mindful you where when putting everything together. This was an incredible experience that I’ll forever hold near and dear to my heart and I hope I can see you all again somewhere in the world! Much love 🤍"
